Information we may collect

How and why we use it
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, arrange viewings, appraise part-exchanges, carry out vehicle and identity checks, prepare and complete sales, take payment, provide warranty support, resolve complaints, prevent fraud and meet our accounting and legal obligations.
Our lawful bases will usually be taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract, complying with a legal obligation, or our legitimate interests in operating a secure and responsible dealership. Where consent is required, you may withdraw it at any time.
Website analytics
If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand visits, pages viewed, device and browser information, and interactions with our website. Google processes this information to provide analytics and may process it outside the UK. We do not deliberately send names, email addresses or payment details to Analytics. Who we may share it with
Where necessary, information may be shared with payment and banking providers, vehicle-history and provenance services, warranty administrators, DVLA or other public authorities, professional advisers, insurers, IT and communications providers, and law-enforcement or regulatory bodies.
If you contact Riverwood Select through Auto Trader or another third-party service, that provider will also process information under its own privacy notice.
How long we keep it
We keep information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose collected and to meet legal, tax, accounting, warranty and dispute-resolution requirements. Records connected with a completed transaction will commonly be retained for up to six years after the relationship ends, and longer only where the law or an active claim requires it.
Your rights
